One thing I tried this weekend was going to a social group that was centered around women's fitness. I had no expectations, but it was SO AWESOME being around a great group of amazing women. We didn't train at the gym, but just met at Starbucks. I really enjoyed meeting other people, learning about their goals and just being in that fitness environment. I found the group on Meetup.com, and I cannot wait to see what friendships will develop.
Even though I am a "gym rat", this group really did motivate me more to reach my goals. I know that I will be on that stage again one day. No excuses, but I'm waiting for that right time as I don't want to rebound again. It's not a diet, but a lifestyle. But I also want to be an inspiration to others who need that extra push to start a new lifestyle, or just get back into the gym again. To me, that is the BEST feeling in the world!
Next weekend, I'm going to another women's fitness group...in Las Vegas!!! Jen Hendershott's Phat Camp! This is my 5th camp, but I always learn something new. It's been awhile since I went to one, but I think I'm in a better mental state this time around. Jen is SO awesome and has been so patient with me throughout the years (THANK YOU!)....BUT I also get to meet and train with (or be trained by?) Nicole Wilkins. I have never met her, but I've heard nothing but good things about her. It's going to be such an awesome weekend. I gotta train hard until then so I can keep up!
Regardless of where you find it, I HIGHLY recommend that everyone should find a group that is focused on fitness (or whatever other interests you have). It will motivate you in ways that you may not have ever considered.
Have a wonderful week everybody and TRAIN HARD!
Great job Kelli on trying something new and glad to hear the positive results! I know you will be loving life next weekend too!
